The Company


Advanced Dynamics Limited are a supplier of filling, capping and labelling machines to a wide range of industries, also paper feeding machines, sheet counting machines and produce wrapping machines for the print industry and are based in Bradford.


The Issues


For the 12 years since Advanced Dynamics had been founded, it had been a lifestyle business for the 2 founders. The older founder was ready to retire and the issue was what next for the remaining sole owner, Malcolm Little. Malcolm had a Springboard mentoring session with John McDonnell in August 2015


Springboard advice given


To think bigger, to think of the longer term and of the end game. To buy out the retiring “partner” and look for growth in new markets.


Progress since the advice was given


The business has been revolutionised since the Springboard session. It was tremendously valuable to have confirmation of some of Malcolm’s ideas from somebody who had been there and done it. During 2016 we started to focus on a specialist market, took on a new sales person who is proving to be a tremendous asset, increased our marketing spend and went to many more exhibitions. We have also increased the size and quality of our showroom and increased the quantity of stock so we can reduce the time between orders and delivery.


The result has been dramatic. In 2015/16 the sales were approx £1.8m. In 2017/18 we are forecasting sales of approx £3m which will be a 50% increase in 2 years.
