Mark Woodward

Mark Woodward is passionate about helping early-stage businesses reach their potential.  Mark has a particular interest in the green and technology sectors.

Having helped build Visualfiles to be the leading supplier of Case Management software in the UK, as Managing Director, Mark lead the sale of the business to Lexis Nexis in 2006 for an eight figure sum.  Post sale, Mark became a member of the UK Lexis Nexis Management Board.

After leaving Lexis Nexis, Mark set up Ewin Woodward Business Development (EWD) in 2008 to invest in early-stage businesses throughout Yorkshire and the North, with a particular interest in the renewable and technology sectors.

Mark has invested in and helped develop a number of businesses over the last ten years including 4 in which he is still a non-executive director.  In 2018 he lead a successful exit for both PE investors and shareholders in Yorkshire based wind turbine installer Earthmill.  He also recently successfully sold Wind Energy Holdings (a green energy provider) to an Irish investment firm.

During the pandemic Mark helped lead an exit for all shareholders in biotech start up Retrogenix to US based Charles River for 100* return for investors.  Since then he has founded Net Zero software business Flotilla which helps firms measure and reduce their carbon footprint.
