Richard Todd

After 20 years in the waste management and recycling industry, during which time Richard saw the transformation of the attitudes of waste, from being a material that was discarded to being a valuable resource. Richard built one of the largest independent waste management and recycling business in North East, recently exiting this business so that he could concentrate on the energy aspects of waste.

Now focused on building an energy business. This includes power generation from renewables, turning food waste to gas and energy, gas peaking plants, energy storage, land restoration and growing bio-crops on former industrial land.

The short-term goal of the power business is to produce 5WM of sustainable green energy, sufficient to power 12,500 homes. Though also being fully aware of the changing nature of power generation, pattern of consumption and how to generate in this changing marketplace.
