We were struggling to decide which opportunities to prioritise for the growth of the business and which would be the most important one to start with. We also didn’t have a structured shareholder agreement in place or accurate roles and responsibilities within the business.

Mentoring advice given:
That any project or improvement that was put forward should be on one single sheet with the proposal and the benefits of the idea but also the problems to consider. This way it simplifies everything and makes it much easier to read. It also means that the person proposing the idea has to consider these factors before putting in a proposal.
What was the best piece of advice you were given?
Trust yourself and keep moving forward.
What did you do when you returned to your business?
Typed up all the notes for the meeting started to implement some of the actions and went through it all with my business partner.
What changes have you made since the mentoring session?
We now require all ideas on a single sheet of paper with pros and cons costs and targets. We have also set up a shareholders agreement.
What have been the benefits to your business of this mentoring session? What growth has the business seen? – with figures if acceptable or if not with percentage growth.
We have increased out nett profit by 2% pa which is a major improvement
