Gerald Jennings

Gerald trained as a chartered surveyor and has spent 30 years in the corporate property world. Gerald started at Liverpool City Council before joining the Burton Group in Leeds where he was responsible for the asset management of their property portfolio, which included Debenhams, of over 2000 properties many of which were leasehold following sale and leaseback transactions. In 1999 Land Securities plc opened a Leeds office and Gerald was recruited by them to manage that office and all their northern and Scottish investment properties- a portfolio worth circa £1bn.

Land Sec owned a wide range of properties but Gerald was instrumental in working with the Board to move towards a more active property investment and development approach, resulting in, amongst other projects, to the completion of the £650m Trinity Leeds development. During his 16 years at Land Sec years Gerald was involved in many Land Sec investments and developments in the North and Scotland while continuing to manage their vast portfolio which included retail and leisure assets such as White Rose Shopping Centre in Leeds, The Gate in Newcastle, Coppergate York.

After 30 years in the corporate world Gerald left Land Sec in 2015, since then he has set up his own residential property and consultancy company and in 2016 help set up, and continues to be involved as Chairman, in a growing PR, public affairs and marketing business in Leeds. He is also Chairman of the West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce as well as being a NED on a number of boards.
