Yorkshire accountancy, advisory and audit firm Garbutt + Elliott has promoted a new director of technical and innovation.

Alex Hird has worked for Garbutt + Elliott for more than 12 years and has technical accounting experience with a wide variety of businesses under both IFRS and UK GAAP, including acquisition and fair value accounting, GAAP conversions, systems automation and data analysis, as well as leading the firm’s legal sector.

The Technical and Innovation team has grown over the past 18 months to ten specialists who have been involved in a number of high-profile initial public offerings (IPOs) across the country, as well as accounting valuations and data analysis projects.

Leeds-based law firm Clarion has promoted a new partner.

Jane Ingleby is an experienced family lawyer who joined the firm’s family law team four years ago.

Ingleby has more than 20 years of experience across all aspects of family law. She joined Clarion in 2016 as a legal director and has provided technical expertise to a number of high-profile clients.

She has particular skills in the areas of complex private law children’s proceedings, surrogacy, cohabitation and finance cases.
