Huddersfield-based furniture supplier and Connect Yorkshire member, Daval has invested £900,000 to boost its UK manufacturing capabilities and strengthen the economic development of its local and regional communities.

Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP) provided Daval with an £88,920 grant to make the improvements.

Working with public and private sector partners, LEP offered its support and funding to help Daval attract new investment to the region and develop skills, energy and digital infrastructure.

Simon Bodsworth, managing director at Daval, said: “By combining our machinery and respective software, we have intelligently reduced the time it takes to develop and market any new products by almost half. Ultimately, we have now successfully removed the need for manual intervention and additional programming. We have seen a reduction in human error and any need for internal remakes which has increased our customer satisfaction and minimised the costs naturally associated with bespoke furniture.”

Bodsworth noted the invaluable support from Ann Storey, senior economic development officer at the LEP, saying: “Their untold expertise, industry knowledge and tailored advice has positively guided us towards a more progressive business arrangement. We can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
