Connect Yorkshire member and Yorkshire-based furniture specialist Daval, has partnered with the winner of BBC Two’s Interior Design Masters to work on a new Northern hotel project.
Daval has teamed up with interior designer and architect Lynsey Ford to create a ‘luxury’ family suite at Lake District hotel Another Place.
Founded in 1978, Daval remains family-run by the Bodsworth family, designing and manufacturing at its 100,000 square foot factory and design showroom in Slaithwaite near Huddersfield.
Daval will work with Lynsey, who won BBC Two’s Interior Design Masters, on the transformation of Willow Cottage as part of the partnership.
James Bodsworth, design director at Daval, commented: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Lynsey on this unique project for Another Place.
“Our made-to-measure design and manufacturing process that happens in the heart of Slaithwaite means we can bring Lynsey’s exact ideas to life to ensure she achieves the precise look and feel for the room.
“When we introduced Lynsey to our recycled Renzo cabinetry, she was impressed by its sustainable credentials and we both knew immediately that it would make a fantastic addition to the overall design of the space.”
Lynsey added: “Sourcing and procuring materials for my projects locally wherever possible is really important to me. Daval is based in the same village as me, so they were my first port of call for working up the cabinetry designs for the suite at Another Place.
“As it is a family suite in a Lake District hotel, I am working with Daval to create a boot room as part of the design where guests can kick off muddy shoes and wellies after a day out walking.
“There will also be a small kitchen and bar area with a sink, fridge and antique glass-backed shelving for enjoying pre-dinner drinks in the room, plus two bedrooms with integrated wardrobe and desk spaces designed and fitted by Daval.”
