Connect Yorkshire member Two Ridings Community Foundation are holding their inaugural International Women’s Day event this year, and would like to invite you to attend

“Please join us to celebrate women & girls at our inaugural International Women’s Day lunch on Friday 8 March – we are hosting this event as we want to Celebrate the Extra-Ordinary achievements of women and girls across Yorkshire. A table is £340 and sits ten while individual tickets are £37.50. Tickets are available online at or by phone or email (see below and attached for the invitation with more information).

We are really fortunate that Ali Tennant and The Garden Rooms, Tennants in Leyburn, North Yorkshire is hosting it for us on Friday 8th March 2019, International Women’s Day. The event coincides and furthers our recently announced £145,000 of funding for women and girls activity in Yorkshire* – funded from the Tampon Tax (this is part of £3.4m of funds distributed across the UK via community foundations). We funded 18 groups but we had 83 other groups who applied and were almost all fundable and readily demonstrated the need but could not be funded due to insufficient funds. So, Two Ridings next job is to raise more awareness and encourage individuals, businesses and charitable trusts to set up funds with us to help support more of these groups and so help more women and girls.

It would be great if you and other female colleagues, family members or friends could take the time to attend and celebrate the achievement of women and do something to help other women. We are encouraging guests to bring items to donate at the event, going to local funded women and girl’s charities (see invitation for more details).

The lunch is from 11.30am-4pm and is packed with inspirational speakers, positive opportunities to listen to grassroots charities helping women and their families and ways for you to help similar groups.

All of the monies raised through ticket, table and auction sales will go to our work with groups empowering women and girls.
