Craig joined Monaghans in 1988 and twelve years later Adrian Monaghan retired and Craig became MD. At this stage Monaghans was a quantity surveyor and project manager with a turnover of £1.25m.
He sold the business in 2006 and bought it back eighteen months later.
Since then the business has grown both organically and by acquisitions so that the business, now known as Trebbi, is a multi-disciplinary building consultancy with offices in Sheffield, Leeds, Manchester and London and overseas offices in Poland, Spain, Italy, France and Barbados. The acquisitions have included architects and interior designers (White Design and Self Architects),structural engineers (Roscoe), mechanical and electrical consultants (FHP), regeneration services (Piece Regen) and commercial agency (Fernie Greaves). The business now turns over £23m with plans to get to £100m.
In addition Craig owns various property development companies which employ many of the disciplines within the Trebbi.
