James is MD at Headstar, a finance recruitment business that’s grown from a small team of 4 struggling to break the £1m mark to a 20-strong operation with international reach. Before moving into recruitment, he trained in finance and held several senior finance roles, including Finance Director – experience that gives him a sharp understanding of what finance leaders really need (and what makes a great one).

Since taking the reins at Headstar, James has led the business through rapid and sustained growth, picking up multiple industry awards along the way. Headstar now works with some of the UK’s most exciting and high-growth businesses, helping them build the finance teams that power their next stage.
