Jonathan Turner

A self-confessed ‘calculated risk taker’, Jonathan graduated from Newcastle Business School and started selling coal in the family energy business in 1986. Taking over as MD in 2000, he led the family buy out, FAMBO, in 2004 in a textbook example of successful succession planning.

Bayford started in the energy business in 1919 and has been involved in the energy transition ever since. As a result Bayford is now involved in EV charging installation through RAW Charging alongside  design, maintenance and installation of multi utilities, substations, transformers and electricity distribution networks through Fulcrum. The Bayford investment in software business Jumptech gives access to ev, solar and battery installations to households across the UK. Through E Gas and Power Bayford supplies gas and electricity to over 340,000 customers in the UK and has been nominated by Which? In 2026 as the No1 Energy supplier in the UK.

Bayford also has extensive property and hospitality interests. The Head Office, Bowcliffe Hall, near Wetherby, The Yorke Arms and Laudale Estate in Scotland host many private and corporate events, lunches, dinners as well as wedding celebrations.
