Steve Birch

Early Life and Education Steve Birch, originally from Chesterfield, obtained a degree in Mathematics & Statistics from the University of Lancaster in 2006.

Career After university, Steve joined Sky Betting & Gaming (SBG) as a Marketing Analyst. He has since worked in Insights, Programme Management, Marketing, and leadership roles before being appointed as CEO in 2020. Under his leadership, Steve was listed in the Glassdoor Top 50 CEO’s, and Sky Betting and Gaming continued to be nominated in the Times 100 Best Places to Work. In May 2022, Steve was appointed as CCO for SBG, where he now leads a ~£1bn revenue business unit alongside other commercial leadership responsibilities in the Flutter UKI Division.

Skills and Expertise Steve’s key skills include setting growth strategies, with a focus on segmentation and customer research, and implementing teams and ways of working to achieve them. He has a particular focus on ensuring that marketing, commercial, and product areas work well together. In recent years, Steve has gained experience in leading big transformation and change programs and has been part of several significant changes as M&A and market-wide change have impacted SBG and the wider Gaming market.
