Tom Rumboll is the Principal of TR Advisory, which provides advisory services in the fields of M&A, strategy and planning, business growth, value creation, exit planning and shareholder support.
Following a 15 year career in Corporate Banking, Tom joined the Board as Commercial Director of a former client, Company Shop Group in 2013. During 4-years at Company Shop Group, Tom led a business transformation, developing the Commercial, Financial, Sales, Property and Procurement strategy, processes, reporting and targets. Whilst at Company Shop the business won the first of its (as was) Queens Awards and worked with all of the UK’s largest Food Retailers.
Tom established TR Advisory in 2017 and supported 3 successful merger transactions in both the UK and in Europe. One of these merger transactions became the SYNETIQ business, valued at £96m, with £130m revenue and c450 people. Tom joined the board as Executive Chairman with the responsibility for M&A, integration, governance, Brand, and to create and execute the post-merger value creation and exit plan. Tom became CEO on 2021 and led the business to a £235m exit in October 2021. Following a further 3 years as CEO where Tom integrated SYNETIQ into a further business to create a c£260m revenue, 750 colleague business serving many of the UK’s largest insurers.
Passionate about sustainability and unlocking the potential of people, teams and businesses, Tom re-established TR Advisory in January 2025 to provide hands on, high quality support to ambitious businesses.
