Connect Yorkshire partner and Leeds-based law firm, Clarion, has added a dedicated legal tax offering to its suite of services with the appointment of a seven-strong specialist team that marks a significant milestone in the firm’s continued growth.

Led by experienced legal tax partners Bernard McIlroy and Fiona Sutherland, the team joins from MSA Law, bringing extensive expertise in corporate tax, structuring and planning along with additional corporate expertise.

The addition of the legal tax and corporate specialists enhances the firm’s capability to provide legal and tax advice across corporate, real estate and private wealth, a significant addition to Clarion’s existing corporate practice.

Richard Moran, senior partner, said: “Welcoming the team marks an important step in our growth strategy.

“Adding a dedicated tax capability has been a strategic priority for us, and Bernard, Fiona and their colleagues bring exactly the depth of expertise and client-focused approach that align perfectly with our values.

“Having access to specialist tax advice alongside our existing services means we can deliver more comprehensive, joined-up solutions.

“This strengthens our ability to support clients through complex transactions and planning while maintaining the quality and responsiveness they expect from us.”

McIlroy said: “We’re excited to be joining at such a dynamic time for the firm. The opportunity to integrate our tax and corporate expertise with Clarion’s strong corporate, real estate and private wealth practices means we can offer clients a truly rounded service.”

Sutherland added: “What attracted us to Clarion was the calibre of work, the quality of the existing teams and the firm’s clear vision for growth.

“As specialist tax and corporate lawyers, we’re looking forward to working alongside colleagues across multiple practice areas to deliver the sophisticated, commercially focused advice that clients need in today’s complex environment.”
